Hill Route - Chilling Out

Routine hill route to Ridge Road and back with a slight detour down Wolcott Hill Road on the run back.

The temp was around 13 degrees at the start of the run.  The good thing that there wasn’t much wind.  Still had to dress warmly to prevent my lungs from getting too cold.

Cycle - Outdoors

Temp: 65 degrees.  Partly cloudy.  Slight wind.  Flat route, asphalt.  Bike: Trek 720 Hybrid.

Getting near sundown.  Spent the afternoon resting with allergies and head cold and watching the long long Red Sox game.  Mowed the lawn.  Still tired but did have enough energy (sort of) for a quick half hour ride before the Bruins game.

It was a bit of a struggle to warm up and get going.  Overall not a bad ride considering I was all stuffed up.

Not feeling all that great (head cold/allergies).  Good opportunity to get a quick ride in after spending all day in training at work.

Kept the route close to home in case I ran out of energy.  Didn’t really push too hard, just enough to break a sweat.

It was about 45 degrees at the gun.  Started in the middle of the pack.  The left turn up Pearl St was chilly but once you hit Main St the sun was shining.  The part through Park St was fun as was the run through the Arch and back up Pearl to the finish.   Felt pretty good.  Decent sprint at the end.    Crossed the line at 27:00 net time 25:27.  Avg Pace: 8:12/mile.  My new 5K PR.  Looking to get under 8 within the new few 5K’s. 

1st outdoor run with the ASICS 2160’s.  Place 483/2227.

First race of the season.  Temp in the 30’s and overcast.   Overdressed.  Should have worn shorts and 1 less layer.   It rained the day before and it was a little bit icy in spots to start.   Psyched out by the hills again.  I did not have the competitive drive today.  Had a great time as usual.  Did not do as well timewise as I had wanted.   Just a little soreness in both knees after the run.  Did some strength/stretching a couple of hours after the run.

Too cold for outdoor exercise.  Was able to get away at work for a workout.

HR Interval Program.  Seat height 19.  Program was 45 minutes plus 5 minute cool down.  It would be nice to replicate this speed/cadence outside.

Temp 23 but felt nice.  Lots of snow still around.  Big drifts and icy patches made the route a bit challenging at times. Sort of combined two routes into one.  Felt like a good run.  Tough week with not a lot of rest/sleep.  Getting ready to start training for a half in February.  50 pushups after the run just for fun.

Temp 30 and overcast.  Feels slightly warmer.  Refreshing.  Snowed about 3″ last night but the roads and sidewalks were pretty clear.  Wore old shoes just in case.

It’s one of my normal routes, pretty flat, all asphalt and concrete surface.  Trying to concentrate on form, stride, etc.
