Indoor Cycling - Round n’ Round

Cardio workout to see how I am doing about 1 week after hurting my leg/knee. I realize that it does not indicate cycling outside conditions but I pushed through without any pain and not totally winded.

I am trying to gauge how this workout would translate to 1) Outdoor condtions 2) with a Hybrid bicycle and 3) as related to a 28K race (middle leg of a dualtalon) to see if I am up for the challenge of a duathalon in 10 days.

How much of running is mental?

I am new to running and have completed 2 5K races this season. I have succesfully lowered my PRT to 8:35. I know physically I can do better. I say this because it still feels like I am running at the same pace but in face I am running faster.

The challenge I think I have is mental (focus and concentration). When I start out in training or in a race it seems that I am worring about finishing and the distance to be completed. This seems to send messages to my legs to stop and turn around. Also my head seems to wander looking at the scenery, terrain, etc. and at times my brain will say stop running.

Any helpful suggstions would be appreciated.
