Post Run - Post Rest - Cycle

Took the hybrid on the trail to the Rocky Hill Ferry and 3/4 of the way back.  Took a left off the course to the pavement and did 4-5 miles and ended up at home.

Good way to end the weekend!

Run - Race - Old Wethersfield 10K

Decided on race day to enter. Nice comfortable day. Since the course runs up my street I figured why not? There were 600+ people registered which is great for the event but made it a logjam at the start. It took about 30 seconds to get out on the road (no timing chip). It’s a flat asphalt course with one minor “hill” at the end.

I think my pace was about 9 minutes/mile throughout the run. My left heel and calf felt OK, so I was happy about that. Tried to kick it up the last 1/2 mile. I am OK with the time/pace, knowing that it would be possible for me to run a sub 9 minute/mile 10K in the future. When I run the course in training I doe about 11:30/mile.

I did my best for that day. I’m happy.

Cycle - Outdoors 1/2 n’ 1/2

Weather in the 80’s low humidity. Nice and pleasant. Took a hybrid route on my hybrid bike. Left leg was a little stiff most of the day and my left heel was slighlty sore. Tomorrow will probably be a day off so it was good to get a moderate effort workout in.

Run - Outdoors - Sunday Fun!

No longer 90 degrees but 85 with the high dewpoint made it feel like 94. Sticky and Sunny.

Wore the 4 bottle amphipod water belt (32oz) and strutted off. The route was like one giant circuit. Up one hill, lots of long straightaways and some minor downhills. One burst of rain near the end but otherwise a new route run. I did have to take several walking breaks. Might have something to do with my Friday and Saturday workouts. Left heels was hurting throughout the run. I was fairly wiped out at the end.
