Last outdoor Run for 2009!

Wanted to get one last run for 2009. Main St route. All is pretty quick considering it is New Year’s Eve. Sidewalks/streets are kinda slick but passable.

Run - Indoors - Treading lightly

Once again it’s kinda cold and winday to run outside so I thought I would do the treadmill thing and see if I could work on my speed as it is.

Not a bad run. I did about 1 miles at a pace of 8:20 mile and the last .25 mile at at pace of 8:00 mile. I might have been able to run another mile or so but it seemed like I might be developing a blister on my left foot so why risk it.

Warmup - 7:50 .64 mile stocking feet
Run - 26:49 3.01 miles
Cool Down - 7;11 .50 mile stocking feet

On the cool down I walked backwards for the first 2 minutes at a pace of 30:00/mile. Yes,walking backwards is easy on a normal surface but it was kinda strange to do it on the treadmill and not fall down. I don’t think I can do it at a quicker pace at this time. :(

Cycle - Indoors - Winter is back with at @$@!

Temp about +5 outside and with the wind chill the temp is about -2 with freakin’ gusty winds so inside it must be I decree! I did a Cardio program and the target HR prescribed = 138.

10 minute warmup - building speed
40 minute workout - increased intensity
10 minute cool down - decreasing intensity

Sunday Run - Is it Spring Already?

It’s sunny and 55 today. Winter??? Spring??? It’s just New England baby :)

It’s good to run in shorts outside again. Took the mp3 player and listened to the Patriots halftime and 3rd quarter during the run. Good time.

Cycle - Outdoors - Happy Boxing Day!

Temp in the 40’s but it started to showery with some wind early in the ride. Both the bike and myself were wet (but happy!) It seemed to get dark earlier today combined with with the weather made it a shorter distance ride than I had planned. :( This also means more cleanup after the ride. :(

Still I’ll take it :)

Cycle - Outdoors - Christmas Day! (A Merry one to all!)

Dinner preparation is in progress so it was time to get a workout in before comany arrives. Burn a few calories so eating and drinking won’t cause an issue.

Temp in the 20’s but windy. It’s a lot colder biking in the cold as opposed to running. Next time I will dress warmer.
